In US there are suspicions that Zelensky is not fighting corruption because of Kolomoisky

The US newspaper The New York Times wrote an article outlining the number of problems president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is dealing with

In US there are suspicions that Zelensky…

According to the NYT, protests against the leadership of the National Bank in Ukraine receive massive media support on TV channels of the oligarch Kolomoisky. He opposes the ex-member of NBU Gontareva, as well as the current leadership of the NBU, states Depo.ua.

The newspaper adds that Kolomoisky had an influence on Zelensky earlier, taking into consideration the fact that the series "Servant of the People" were aired 1+1.

The NYT also writes that both Republicans and Democrats accused Ukraine of corruption during the impeachment process in Washington. And this is dangerous enough because Kyiv needs US support.

In America, "politicians are an extension of the electorate, and the electorate has already concluded that Ukraine is a corrupt country" said Oleksandr Danylyuk, who resigned as Mr. Zelensky’s national security adviser in September. "In practice, I expect the support of the United States to be minimal in the next year."

The NYT also recalls that new Attorney General Ruslan Ryaboshapka has filed a lawsuit against Oleg Bakhmatyuk this fall over a $ 1.2 billion stabilization loan from VAB Bank, But the Ukrainian authorities have not brought such charges against Mr. Kolomoisky.

That has led to accusations that Mr. Zelensky is giving his media ally and former business partner special treatment, although both Zelensky and Kolomoisky deny it.

But high-profile corruption cases "won’t be credible until there’s an action taken against Kolomoisky," said Mr. Danylyuk, the former Zelensky adviser.

Ukraine’s problems extend beyond Mr. Kolomoisky, however. The SBU special service remains in dire need of changes to stop it from intervening "in all areas of social life and business," says the Anti-Corruption Action Center, a watchdog group. Rather than functioning as a Western intelligence service, the SBU is able to take advantage of its wide-ranging powers to extract bribes and exert undue influence across Ukraine, its critics say.

Reference: OnNovember 11, media reported that NABU staff had come to the office of one of Ukraine's largest banks, Raiffeisen Bank, to hold as the suspect the board chairman Alexander Pysaruk.

On November 12, it became known that Bakhmatyuk appealed to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky about NABU and GPU, which have resumed criminal investigation against VAB Bank.

He explained that NABU's suspicion was politically motivated and jeopardized the work of Ukrlandfarming Agro Holding, and also dismissed claims of the National Bank concerning UAH 29.3 billion debt to the state.

Former Minister of finance Examiner Oleksandr Shlapak reported that Bakhmatyuk had fought for VAB Bank to the last and was trying to contribute $ 200 million to save the bank.

It is also known that Business-Warta and Ukrainian Agrarian Club unions have appealed to President Zelensky to defend Bakhmatyuk's Ukrlandfarming.

On November 18, it was reported that the examination refutes NABU's charges.

Earlier, on November 15, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ordered to release on bail the former first deputy of the National Bank, Oleksandr Pisaruk, for 5 million hryvnias.

Subsequently, it became known that Raiffeisen Bank would pledge Pysaruk and leave him in office.
